Cops probing schoolboy fight at Shah Alam football pitch

SHAH ALAM: Police have launched an investigation into an altercation between two schoolboys at a mosque football pitch in Shah Alam on June 12.
Shah Alam district police chief Sarudin Samah said a report was lodged by the father of one of the students regarding the 1pm incident. Initial investigations revealed that the two boys, aged 13 and 14, knew each other and attended the same school.
“The altercation involved only two students, though it is believed that several other students witnessed the fight.
“The 13-year-old victim received treatment at Shah Alam Hospital, where he was confirmed to have sustained a soft tissue injury,” Sarudin said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. If convicted, offenders face up to one year in prison, a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both.
Sarudin urged those with information on the incident to contact investigating officer Amirul Zulkifli at 012-5583436, or visit their nearest police station to assist with the inquiry.
