Tether projects a $15 billion net profit for 2025, demonstrating an exceptional 99% margin while exploring a historic funding round.

Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin, anticipates a massive financial year now. According to Bloomberg, CEO Paolo Ardoino just forecast a net profit of about $15 billion in 2025. This means that they are making a very high profit margin of 99% effectively. As a result, the company is establishing its financial preeminence in general.

Record Earnings Driven by Strategic Reserve Investments

The Salvadoran company has already attracted attention in the financial markets before. Specifically, Bloomberg reported that the company is now negotiating. Tether aims to raise $20 billion in a private placement. This deal would involve swapping about a 3% ownership in the business.

Such an agreement would put Tether’s total valuation at $500 billion. Hence, such an appraise would put it in the top ranks of the most valuable private corporations in the world. Indeed, Ardoino refused to provide information on potential investors. He stressed that their best vision is to seek synergies.

Tether has previously reported a net profit of more than $13 billion in 2024. Furthermore, the figure more than doubled the $6.2 billion reported in 2023. Recently, the firm’s equity has already exceeded $20 billion. In addition, a strong Bitcoin and gold price also make a strong contribution to reserve strength.

Tether’s cash reserves are what generate the majority of its earnings. In particular, these reserves support the circulating USDT stablecoin. Their strategy is based on cash and short-term US government bonds as the primary investments. In this case, the high interest rates have been a great boon for this approach.

Also, the company has expanded its investments actively in recent times. Particularly, they focused on industries such as artificial intelligence and energy. They also spent a lot in communications infrastructure projects all over the world. Moreover, Tether also launched a new stablecoin, USAT, in 2025. This asset is developed for the efficient service of the U.S. market.

Tether Expands Market Reach with New USAT Stablecoin

New USAT stablecoin looks for full regulatory compliance. The same goes for the GENIUS Act at this moment. Therefore, the firm is strategically expanding its market base. However, the firm is still being called out on its transparency of reserves. This is because of the scarcity of public disclosures in general.

Tether’s financial statements are not audited by third parties. This is not the kind of rigorous level demanded of publicly traded companies. Nevertheless, the positive financial projections still attract a lot of attention. In the end, the search for capital at a high valuation is historic. It plays to crypto’s rapidly evolving standing in global finance today.

Thus, the highest profit margin for Tether validates its market dominance. There is tremendous pay off on the firm’s strategic reserve investment. The aggressive fundraising also attests to huge expansion plans worldwide. As such, the crypto giant should enjoy significant continued influence.

This financial triumph signifies a larger trend within the crypto industry. Obviously, the company is expanding beyond stablecoin issuing. As a result, it is now becoming a diversified technology holding company. This evolution also brings digital assets well into the global economic machine in an efficient manner.

All in all, this trajectory indicates a fateful future for stablecoins and their issuers. Ardoino’s leader has successfully steered through choppy regulatory waters. Henceforth, Tether remains the standard-bearer of profitability in the international digital asset market.

Getty Images Washington is addicted to taxing success. Now, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating a plan to skim half the patent earnings from inventions developed at universities with federal funding. It’s being sold as a way to shore up programs like Social Security. In reality, it’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress. Yes, taxpayer dollars support early-stage research. But the real payoff comes later—in the jobs created, cures discovered, and industries launched when universities and private industry turn those discoveries into real products. By comparison, the sums at stake in patent licensing are trivial. Universities collectively earn only about $3.6 billion annually in patent income—less than the federal government spends on Social Security in a single day. Even confiscating half would barely register against a $6 trillion federal budget. And yet the damage from such a policy would be anything but trivial. The true return on taxpayer investment isn’t in licensing checks sent to Washington, but in the downstream economic activity that federally supported research unleashes. Thanks to the bipartisan Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, universities and private industry have powerful incentives to translate early-stage discoveries into real-world products. Before Bayh-Dole, the government hoarded patents from federally funded research, and fewer than 5% were ever licensed. Once universities could own and license their own inventions, innovation exploded. The result has been one of the best returns on investment in government history. Since 1996, university research has added nearly $2 trillion to U.S. industrial output, supported 6.5 million jobs, and launched more than 19,000 startups. Those companies pay…
