The highly-anticipated Bruce Springsteen biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere arrives in theaters today (Friday, October 24). Never one to miss an opportunity to score another bestseller, the rock legend has also delivered his own project at the same time — a reworking of his classic Nebraska — which is featured prominently in the movie.
The newly-shared Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition quickly soars into the top 10 on iTunes at the outset of a brand new tracking frame. With his life story unfolding on cinema screens across America, both the just-dropped full-length and the original could rise in the coming hours and days, with Springsteen possibly headed for more wins on the Billboard charts in a little over a week with a decades-old collection.
Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition Debuts
Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition sits at No. 7 on the iTunes Top Albums chart as of the time of publishing. The roster details the bestselling albums and EPs in the U.S. specifically on the platform, which remains one of the most important in the music industry when it comes to digital downloads, and sales in general.

Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition is, as its name suggests, a reissue of Springsteen’s classic Nebraska. The detailed project includes the original album, as well as electrified recordings of the songs featured on Nebraska that were never released to the public, along with a performance film sure to delight longtime fans of The Boss.
The Story of Bruce Springsteen’s Album Nebraska
Springsteen wrote Nebraska and recorded it as demos at home, intending to later re-record them in the studio with his E Street Band, as was his typical process at the time. After working hard to recapture the magic he had found entirely on his own, the superstar decided to release Nebraska as an acoustic project, and the sessions with his band were abandoned.
Throughout the years, there has been plenty of talk about Electric Nebraska — a supposed, complete version of the critically-acclaimed full-length that never appeared. What has been sitting in Springsteen’s vault since the 1980s is now included on the re-release.

Five albums debut ahead of Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition. That roundup includes Returning to Myself by Brandi Carlile, Creature in the Black Night from Dayseeker, Demi Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep, Halley’s Love?… or Something Like It, and The End from rock band Mammoth. Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl steps aside from the No. 1 spot to make room for Carlile and also sits ahead of Springsteen.
The Original Nebraska Album Becomes a Top-Seller Again
As Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition launches inside the top 10, the original version isn’t far behind. Nebraska rises to No. 9 on the iTunes Top Albums list, returning to the upper region as fans rush to purchase both editions during an especially exciting moment for Springsteen.
Bruce Springsteen Fills Five Spots on iTunes With Classic Albums
The rock musician currently fills five spaces on the 200-rung iTunes Top Albums roster. Both versions of Nebraska live inside the uppermost tier, while his Greatest Hits compilation, Born in the U.S.A., and Born to Run sit lower on the ranking at Nos. 91, 97, and 136, respectively — though any or all of them could climb as people wake up to the excitement surrounding his catalog.

Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition is Springsteen’s third project of 2025. In mid-May, as he returned to touring, the musician’s Land of Hope and Dreams EP arrived. The short set featured a handful of live takes recorded just days earlier in the U.K., one of which included a tirade aimed at President Donald Trump. Just a month later, Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a box set featuring seven never-before-heard complete albums, was shared and became a strong seller globally.
