Memecoin News: Pump.fun Buys Vyper to Strengthen Memecoin Trading Tools

Pump.fun acquires Vyper to expand memecoin trading tools, enhance cross-chain execution, and strengthen Terminal with EVM-focused infrastructure upgrades.

Pump.fun announced the acquisition of Vyper on Thursday, expanding its memecoin trading infrastructure. The Solana-based launchpad stated that Vyper’s team and technology will be a part of its larger product suite. Meanwhile, the move is a sign of Pump.fun’s continued drive towards faster execution and dominance in cross-chain trading.

Pump.Fun Expands Trading Stack with Vyper Acquisition

According to a posting on X, Vyper confirmed that Pump.fun officially completed the acquisition: The team said that Vyper’s infrastructure would be moving to Terminal, Pump.fun’s trading platform, shortly. As part of this process, the standalone Vyper product will be sunset.

Pump.fun said that the integration will reinforce the execution tools for active traders. Terminal, formerly called Padre, is already into high-speed memecoin trading. Therefore, Vyper’s technology is expected to improve reliability and performance across supported networks.

In addition, the company announced a wind-down schedule for Vyper services. Core product features will start to shut down on February 10th, 2026 at 12 pm EST. However, selected features will be retained in the transition period.

These remaining features consist of private key exports, wallet tracking data, and configuration tools. Pump.fun said that this approach would enable users to make a smooth transition. Meanwhile, communication updates will continue through the migration process.

To celebrate the purchase, Pump.fun issued user incentives. All existing Vyper users will be offered a 90% cashback on Terminal usage for a limited period. This offer is valid in the first month after migration.

Pump.fun made sure to emphasize how the acquisition benefits larger infrastructure objectives. Specifically, the company wants to improve EVM compatibility across major chains. As a result, better execution on networks such as Base is now an important focus.

Acquisition Supports Pump.Fun’s Aggressive Growth Strategy

The Vyper deal is a part of a string of strategic acquisitions by Pump.fun. In October 2025, the company bought the company Padre and renamed it Terminal. That platform is now Pump.fun’s main multichain trading interface.

Earlier, back in July 2025, Pump.fun acquired Kolscan, a Solana-based wallet tracking and copy trading tool. Then in January of 2026, the platform launched Pump Fund. That initiative provides $250,000 in seed funding opportunities to ecosystem projects.

According to co-founder Alon Cohen, Pump.fun is continuing to expand despite difficult market conditions. He said the company is rapidly and aggressively expanding its team. Therefore, Vyper acquisition is consistent with long-term infrastructure ambitions.

The announcement was closely followed by market activity. Strong trading interest was observed in the native PUMP token after the news. Daily trading volume was about $366m soon after the disclosure.

In its opinion, Pump.fun thinks integrated infrastructure enhances retention and execution speed for traders. By bringing tools under Terminal, the platform reduces fragmentation. Consequently, users may have more fluid trading workflows between chains.

The acquisition also helps Pump.fun to secure a better competitive position on the memecoin markets. High-frequency execution is very important because memecoin volatility has not vanished. Therefore, improved tooling is a potential attraction for professional and retail traders alike.

Pump.fun confirmed that Vyper’s team will continue to be part of the team post-acquisition. Their expertise will contribute to the ongoing development within Terminal. Meanwhile, the company reiterated its focus on the quality of execution and scalability.

The post Relax, Core v30 Won’t Kill Bitcoin appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Takeaways The rhetoric on Crypto Twitter has been heating up between Core and Knots in the OP_RETURN saga, as Bitcoin news takes on a new route. Despite some back and forth, Blockstream CEO Adam Back declared he would run Bitcoin Core v30 Despite believing the upgrade will open the network to more spam, Bitcoin OG Jimmy Song reminds people panicking that Core v30 won’t kill Bitcoin In case you missed it, the Bitcoin community is in full battle mode over Bitcoin Core v30 and the so-called OP_RETURN drama. Just mention “Core v30” in a crowded Discord and watch the fireworks. On one side, you’ve got the Bitcoin Knots faithful grabbing pitchforks and talking about the soul of the network; on the other, the Core devs, who take a more laissez-faire approach. Bitcoin News: What’s Actually Happening in Core vs Knots At the heart of the storm? Bitcoin Core’s decision to vastly expand the OP_RETURN data limit in Bitcoin Core v30. For years, Bitcoin’s OP_RETURN opcode, a line of script that lets users immutably store tiny amounts of data on the blockchain, was capped at 80 bytes. With Core v30, that ceiling is yanked off, allowing payloads up to the full block size (nearly 4MB). Proponents see big wins here: more flexibility for on-chain applications, support for digital notarization, and enhanced Layer 2 infrastructure. Critics, especially in the Knots camp, warn that this opens the door to chain bloat, endless spam, and a deviation from Bitcoin’s monetary roots. Knots developers, most notably Luke Dashjr and Samson Mow, argue that without limits, Bitcoin risks becoming a dumping ground for arbitrary data. A fate that would make running a node costly and possibly restrict network participation to large players. Since the Core update was finalized, Knots’ market share of full nodes has…
