Using the dial-up service CompuServe in the early 1990s, the “Roots Forum” connected with a fellow genealogist in Northern Ireland and led to dozens of Ireland visits to conduct primary research.

A native of New York City, Maureen began her professional life as a registered nurse, working in surgical intensive care at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
