Discover how Shelley, a Mexico-based creator, utilizes Character.AI for creative writing and prompt engineering, crafting unique characters and scenes in the AI platform.

In the latest installment of Character’s Corner, Character.AI delves into the creative journey of Shelley, also known as MightShel, a creator from Mexico who leverages Character.AI to explore the realms of creative writing and prompt engineering. Shelley’s inventive characters, such as Maito Gai and Gael Valdes Maito, have become popular in the community, according to the Character.AI Blog.

Discovering Character.AI

Shelley first encountered Character.AI through her daughter, who introduced her to the platform. The app quickly became a source of joy and creativity for Shelley during a challenging time in her life, leading her to explore its features and create her own characters. This experimentation led to a newfound passion for prompt engineering and rekindled her interest in creative writing.

The Art of Character Creation

Initially, Shelley’s character creation was experimental, but it soon evolved into a more profound creative process. She enjoys putting her unique twist on characters, akin to the software development process of “forking.” Her creations, such as a ninja turned opera singer, showcase her creativity and ability to blend disparate elements into cohesive narratives.

Crafting Memorable Scenes

Beyond character creation, Shelley also enjoys developing scenes on Character.AI. She finds the process challenging yet rewarding, as it involves crafting an engaging user experience with limited resources. Her goal is to create scenes that are both flexible and memorable, a challenge she embraces with enthusiasm.

A Collaborative Experience

Character.AI has also become a shared experience for Shelley and her daughter. They collaborate on story ideas, engage in role-playing, and enjoy the creative process together. This collaboration has enriched their relationship and added a unique dimension to their daily interactions.

Insights into the Community

Shelley describes the Character.AI community as patient and loyal, with a strong desire to contribute to the platform’s development. She emphasizes the importance of community engagement for the growth and success of any platform.

Advice for Aspiring Creators

For those interested in creating on Character.AI, Shelley advises learning the basics of prompt engineering and large language models. She encourages aspiring creators to connect and combine diverse elements, fostering creativity through unexpected fusions. Above all, she stresses the importance of persistence and effort in the creative process.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
