“Three Wisest Men,” the final installment in the popular trilogy that started with “Three Wise Men and a Baby” in 2022, was watched live by 1.54 million people on Saturday.
The movie was the most-watched of the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas so far and was the 89th most-watched cable program of the week, beating several top rated Fox News programs, the Los Angeles Lakers v Oklahoma City Thunder NBA game on ESPN and the Iowa v. USC football game on the Big Ten Network.
Hallmark shows the films prequels immediately ahead of the new release, and “Three Wiser Men and a Boy” scored 996,000 live viewers to be cable’s 156th most-watched program for the week.
Other Hallmark Christmas programs to break into the 200 most-watched for the week were the “Mistletoe Murders” mystery show and new films “A Very Merry Mix Up” and “Tidings for the Season.”
The holiday content boosted Hallmark to be the fourth most-watched cable channel in prime time with an average of 608,000 live viewers, up from 580,000 the week before and 399,000 in the week of Oct. 13 to Oct. 19, when the first new holiday movie of the season debuted.

Despite its popularity, “Three Wisest Men” was the least watched film in its trilogy. “Three Wise Men and a Baby” was the most-watched original TV movie of 2022 and its premiere averaged 3.6 million total viewers. The second film, “Three Wiser Men and a Boy” was one of two Hallmark originals last year to break into the top 40 cable programs following its debut.
