KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Friday as mild profit-taking in key index-linked counters weighed on early trade, despite overnight gains on Wall Street.
At 9.15am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 10.77 points to 1,700.62 from Thursday’s close of 1,711.39, after opening 7.35 points lower at 1,704.04.
Market breadth was positive, with gainers outpacing losers by 215 to 193. A total of 296 counters were unchanged, 2,032 untraded and 34 suspended.
Turnover amounted to 274.46 million shares worth RM168.66 million.
