Aster DM Healthcare will double the bed capacity of ProCare Hospital in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province after taking a majority stake.
Aster ProCare Hospital’s licensed bed capacity will expand from 100 to 209 beds, including 60 critical care beds and seven operating theatres, the Dubai-based healthcare provider said in a statement.
Founded in 2009, ProCare Hospital is a joint venture between Abdulrahman Saleh Al Rajhi and Partners Co Group.
No financial details were disclosed.
Following the acquisition, Aster’s bed capacity in the kingdom will increase to 500.
In November, Aster secured AED265 million ($72.2 million) from Emirates Development Bank to support the development of two hospitals in Dubai.
Aster has a presence across 15 hospitals, 124 clinics and 333 pharmacies across the GCC.
In November 2024, Aster DM Healthcare group CEO Alisha Moopen told AGBI that the company planned to increase its roster of 250 hospital beds in Riyadh to 1,000 within the next three to four years to help meet growing Saudi demand for affordable healthcare.
