Antseed has officially launched a decentralized and peer-to-peer marketplace that connects AI consumers directly with model providers. The platform went live on May 15, aiming to remove centralized intermediaries from the AI access ecosystem.

Unlike traditional AI aggregators such as OpenRouter, which list models, route all traffic through their own servers, and hold provider earnings until payout, Antseed takes a different approach. It allows buyers to discover providers directly, send requests peer-to-peer, and settle payments instantly in USDC to a provider’s wallet.

How the Platform Works

According to a media statement, the network requires no accounts, no API keys, and has no approval process or central point of control. This means users can access AI services without going through a centralized gatekeeper.

Shahaf Antwarg, Antseed’s co-founder, explained the rationale behind the project. He noted that while OpenRouter and similar aggregators helped define the market for unified AI access, that market does not need to remain centralized. Antseed, he said, gives AI consumers and providers a direct alternative where access, reputation, and payments are coordinated by the network rather than a single platform.

Discovery on Antseed uses the same peer-to-peer protocol that powers Bittorrent, eliminating reliance on a central server. All transactions are recorded on-chain, making track records public, portable, and tamper-resistant.

The network supports the same API format used by OpenAI and Anthropic. This means tools such as Claude Code and Cursor can connect by changing a single setting. For non-technical users, Antseed offers a desktop client called Antstation to access the marketplace.

Initial Providers and Pricing

At launch, Antseed includes 20 providers offering frontier models such as GPT and Claude Opus, as well as open-source systems including Kimi and GLM. The company says it adds no platform markup to provider pricing, which could make it more cost-effective for users.

Among the initial providers is a Venice inference pool hosted at diem.antseed.com. DIEM holders can stake tokens into a smart contract on Base. The pooled DIEM then powers Venice AI inference across the network. Users pay in USDC per request, and payments stream back to stakers in real time.

Erik Voorhees, founder of Venice.ai, commented on the development. He said DIEM was designed to make AI access something users can truly own, not rent. Seeing it extended to a permissionless network like Antseed, he added, is exactly the kind of open ecosystem they hoped DIEM would help unlock.

Future-Ready Architecture

Antseed’s architecture is designed to support autonomous AI agents that need to transact independently. The company says the network is structured so that next-generation agents can operate without centralized authorization. This could be significant as AI agents become more common in various applications.

Overall, Antseed represents a shift toward more decentralized AI access. It remains to be seen whether the platform can gain traction against established aggregators. But with no platform markup and direct peer-to-peer connections, it offers an alternative that might appeal to cost-conscious users and privacy advocates alike.
