On April 9, Amazon Pharmacy integrated Eli Lilly’s recently authorized weight-loss tablet, Foundayo, into its distribution network, enabling rapid delivery and in-person collection at medical facilities nationwide.
Foundayo represents an oral formulation of GLP-1 therapy designed for adults experiencing obesity or excess weight accompanied by comorbid health conditions. The pill format eliminates refrigeration requirements unlike injectable alternatives, simplifying storage and distribution through automated dispensing systems.

Since 2021, Amazon Pharmacy has been dispensing GLP-1 therapies. The company introduced Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy tablet through kiosk distribution in January 2026, with Foundayo becoming the second oral GLP-1 medication available via this channel.
Patients with insurance coverage can obtain Foundayo for a minimum monthly cost of $25, equivalent to approximately $1 daily. Those paying without insurance will pay $149 monthly. The platform automatically identifies and applies eligible manufacturer rebates prior to transaction completion.
Tanvi Patel, Vice President and General Manager of Amazon Pharmacy, stated the initiative aims to eliminate obstacles preventing patients from obtaining weight management therapies.
Rapid same-day fulfillment currently serves nearly 3,000 municipalities across the country. Following a $4 billion capital deployment in 2025 to enhance delivery infrastructure, Amazon targets expansion to 4,500 service locations by year-end 2026. Customers in less populated and distant areas will receive delivery within one to three business days.
Amazon is deploying automated dispensing units at selected One Medical practice locations. This allows customers to obtain Foundayo immediately following their medical visits, eliminating delivery wait times.
The initial Wegovy tablet kiosk deployment launched across five One Medical sites in California. Patel indicated potential future kiosk installations may include non-Amazon healthcare providers, subject to state-level regulatory approval.
Accessing appointments or kiosk services does not require One Medical membership enrollment. Those seeking continuous access to the primary care network can purchase annual membership for $199.
Amazon Pharmacy processes prescriptions originated through LillyDirect, Eli Lilly’s consumer-direct health platform. Same-day delivery services are also available for prescriptions written by Lilly’s partner providers, including WeightWatchers.
Laura Steele, Group Vice President of U.S. Cardiometabolic Health at Eli Lilly, noted patients may receive Foundayo within hours of prescription or retrieve it immediately at their physician’s location.
Last week, Lilly commenced direct sales of Foundayo’s entry-level dosage at $149 monthly through LillyDirect for self-paying customers.
Amazon Pharmacy offers round-the-clock consultation with credentialed pharmacists and provides comprehensive care coordination through Amazon One Medical, encompassing clinical assessments and therapeutic guidance.
Amazon (AMZN) stock appreciated roughly 3.5% on the day the Foundayo collaboration was publicly disclosed.
