Robinhood Chain is entering a very different phase from the one many investors expected when its public mainnet launched in July.

The network was built around real-world assets, Robinhood Stock Tokens and programmable finance. Two months later, however, memecoin trading has become one of its strongest engines of onchain activity. More importantly, the latest wave is no longer limited to conventional meme tokens trading against ETH or stablecoins. A new category of stock-paired memecoins, including Artificial Inu (AI) paired with the NVDA Stock Token and Memory Cow Moo (MOO) associated with the MU Stock Token narrative, is beginning to merge meme speculation with Robinhood Chain's original real-world-asset infrastructure.

At the time of writing on September 2, DeFiLlama data for Robinhood Chain showed approximately $1.57 billion in 24-hour decentralized exchange volume, alongside about $735 million in total value locked and nearly $797 million in stablecoins. On September 1, Decrypt reported a $1.595 billion daily DEX-volume reading, up 61% from $989 million on August 28.

The headline is no longer simply that Robinhood Chain has memecoins. The more important development is that memes, Stock Tokens and token-launch infrastructure are beginning to reinforce one another.

Summary

Robinhood Chain's DEX activity has climbed to record levels, with 24-hour volume reaching roughly $1.5 billion to $1.6 billion around September 1–2, 2026.

Memecoins remain a major source of activity, but the market structure has evolved from the first CASHCAT-led wave into launchpad tokens such as PONS and a newer category of stock-paired memecoins.

LONG, or Long.xyz, allows community tokens to trade in pools paired with Robinhood Stock Tokens. Artificial Inu's AI/NVDA market has become one of the clearest examples of this model.

The result is unusual: speculative meme trading can generate additional demand and trading activity around Stock Tokens, while Stock Tokens give memecoins a recognizable financial narrative and an alternative liquidity asset.

PONS has simultaneously turned token issuance itself into a major economic activity. On August 31, the protocol collected about $4.89 million in fees, according to DeFiLlama data cited by The Defiant.

Robinhood Chain therefore appears to be developing three interconnected layers: Stock Tokens, speculative assets and launch infrastructure. Whether that structure can remain active after the current meme cycle cools will be a more important test than any individual token price.

Robinhood Chain DEX Volume Has Entered a New Range

Robinhood officially launched the public Robinhood Chain mainnet on July 1, describing it as an Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 designed to bring traditional markets, crypto and real-world assets together. Its flagship assets are Robinhood Stock Tokens, which are ERC-20 tokenized debt securities providing economic exposure to underlying shares and ETFs.

The market, however, quickly found another use for the permissionless network.

CASHCAT became the chain's first major meme breakout shortly after launch. MEXC covered that early phase in its analysis of CASHCAT becoming Robinhood Chain's first breakout meme coin. By July, MEXC's own trading data showed that six of its ten most-traded new listings came from Robinhood Chain, with capital increasingly concentrated in the ecosystem. MEXC's July trading highlights recorded a 73.9% month-on-month increase in average trading volume per user for new tokens.

What looked initially like a short-lived meme rush did not disappear. Instead, it changed form.

On August 31, The Block reported Robinhood Chain DEX volume reaching a then-record $989 million. Only days later, the network was processing roughly $1.5 billion or more in daily DEX trades.

According to The Defiant, Robinhood Chain recorded approximately $1.49 billion of DEX volume over 24 hours, up 131.1% over seven days and 517.4% over 30 days at the measured time on September 1. That placed the network second among major chains by 24-hour DEX volume in that snapshot. The same analysis showed how launchpad activity contributed heavily to the surge.

This is a substantial change in scale for a network that has only been publicly live for two months.

From CASHCAT to PONS to Stock-Paired Memecoins

Robinhood Chain's meme market can roughly be understood in three phases.

Phase One: CASHCAT Proved That Attention Could Bootstrap the Chain

CASHCAT mattered because it demonstrated that Robinhood Chain could attract speculative liquidity before its more complex financial applications had matured.

The token's narrative was simple, memorable and closely connected to Robinhood history, while remaining an independent community project rather than an official Robinhood asset.

That first wave also exposed the tension at the center of the ecosystem: Robinhood Chain was designed to support sophisticated financial assets, yet one of the fastest ways to attract users was through something much less sophisticated — memes.

For a broader view of how that early market developed, MEXC's overview of leading Robinhood Chain memecoins examines CASHCAT, PONS and several other projects that shaped the network's first speculative cycle.

Phase Two: PONS Turned Meme Creation Into Infrastructure

The next stage was more economically significant.

Instead of betting only on individual meme tokens, traders began placing value on the infrastructure used to launch them.

PONS is a Robinhood Chain-native token launchpad. The platform allows new fixed-supply tokens to progress toward liquidity pools as they develop sufficient activity. As launch and trading activity increased, fee generation became a central part of the PONS narrative.

On August 31, Pons collected approximately $4.89 million in daily fees, representing 63.9% of the launchpad fees tracked in the dataset cited by The Defiant. Its token was valued at roughly $310 million in that same September 1 snapshot. The Defiant's launchpad-fee analysis also showed Robinhood Chain-based launchpads collectively taking close to 70% of tracked launchpad fees that day.

This matters because PONS is not simply another meme.

Its economics are linked to the volume of tokens being created and traded. That makes launch activity itself a monetizable layer of the Robinhood Chain meme economy.

MEXC has previously examined this infrastructure shift in its Robinhood Chain investment thesis, which identified PONS as one of the ecosystem's emerging native launchpad projects.

Phase Three: Memecoins Started Pairing With Stock Tokens

The third phase may prove to be the most distinctive.

Long.xyz, also known as LONG, introduced markets where community tokens can be paired directly with Robinhood Stock Tokens rather than relying exclusively on ETH or stablecoins.

Artificial Inu provides the clearest example.

The AI token trades in a major liquidity pool against the NVDA Stock Token, creating an AI/NVDA market in which a speculative community token and a stock-linked onchain asset occupy the same liquidity structure.

On August 30, The Block reported that Artificial Inu's market capitalization had risen from approximately $1.5 million on August 1 to a peak of $135 million, while its NVDA-paired liquidity had already become considerably deeper than its WETH pool. The Block's Robinhood Chain market analysis estimated that stock-paired memecoins were accounting for roughly one quarter of stock-linked trading volume on Robinhood Chain at the time.

The market accelerated further afterward. When checked on September 2, the AI/NVDA pool tracked by GeckoTerminal showed Artificial Inu around a $275 million market capitalization, approximately $26 million in liquidity and more than $11 million in 24-hour volume in that pool alone.

These numbers can change extremely quickly, but the structural development is harder to ignore.

Why Stock-Paired Memecoins Are Different

A normal memecoin pair might look like:

MEME / ETH

or:

MEME / Stablecoin

A Robinhood Chain stock-meme pair can instead look like:

AI / NVDA

or, in another emerging example:

MOO / MU

That seemingly small change has important consequences.

When a Stock Token becomes part of a liquidity pool, trading the memecoin can also create turnover involving the Stock Token. The equity-linked asset is therefore no longer simply sitting in a wallet waiting for an investor who wants stock exposure. It can become part of DeFi market infrastructure.

That is precisely the type of composability Robinhood envisioned when it designed Stock Tokens as ERC-20 assets. Robinhood's own documentation states that Stock Tokens can be transferred, held and composed into onchain applications, while developers can build trading, lending and other financial products around them.

Investors should nevertheless understand what these assets actually represent. As explained in MEXC's comparison of Robinhood Stock Tokens, xStocks and Ondo Stocks, Robinhood Stock Tokens provide economic exposure but are not equivalent to directly owning ordinary shares through a brokerage account.

Likewise, a meme token paired with an NVDA Stock Token does not become NVIDIA equity.

Sarah Chen: The Real Story Is the New Liquidity Loop

For MEXC senior analyst Sarah Chen, the most interesting part of the Robinhood Chain rally is not simply the speed at which individual meme valuations are rising. It is the emergence of a market structure where speculative assets and tokenized real-world assets can generate activity for each other.

In Chen's analysis, Robinhood Chain is beginning to show a liquidity loop that was largely theoretical when Stock Tokens first launched. Stock Tokens provide recognizable financial narratives and composable assets for onchain markets; memecoins provide unusually high trading frequency and retail attention; launchpads continuously introduce new assets that compete for that liquidity. When all three layers operate at the same time, transaction activity can expand much faster than it would from straightforward Stock Token trading alone.

That distinction is important. A chain attracting $1.5 billion in daily DEX volume because one token briefly went viral would tell a very different story from a chain where several independent mechanisms — meme trading, Stock Token liquidity, launchpads and DeFi infrastructure — are beginning to reinforce one another. The latter has a stronger chance of producing an ecosystem rather than a temporary traffic spike.

MOO Shows How Quickly the Formula Can Be Replicated

Artificial Inu is no longer the only example.

Memory Cow Moo, or MOO, combines meme culture with the market narrative surrounding computer memory and Micron Technology's MU ticker. The project is community-driven and is not an official Micron product.

Its appeal illustrates how quickly the stock-paired meme formula can be adapted to another recognizable equity narrative.

MEXC's dedicated guide to Memory Cow Moo (MOO) and its “Memory Supercycle” narrative explains the relationship between the MOO branding, Micron's MU ticker and its Robinhood Chain structure.

This model gives meme creators a much larger narrative universe than animal memes alone.

Semiconductors, artificial intelligence, technology companies and other widely followed equity themes can potentially become raw material for crypto-native communities, while Stock Tokens provide the onchain assets around which those communities can build liquidity.

That does not mean every stock-themed meme will succeed. It means Robinhood Chain has created infrastructure where those experiments are technically possible.

The Meme Boom Is Also Changing Robinhood Chain's Economics

Price action tends to attract the most attention, but fee generation offers another way to measure whether the activity is economically meaningful.

At the time of writing, DeFiLlama showed Robinhood Chain generating about:

MetricApproximate 24H Level
DEX volume$1.57 billion
Chain fees$2.13 million
Chain revenue$1.92 million
Application fees$14.3 million
Application revenue$3.0 million
TVL$735 million
Stablecoin market cap$797 million

Source periods differ slightly as metrics update continuously; figures reflect the September 2 DeFiLlama snapshot.

The distinction between chain revenue and application revenue is important.

Robinhood does not simply receive the fees generated by every application. Individual protocols and launchpads have their own economic structures, while Robinhood Chain captures network-level activity through gas.

This means a growing meme economy can benefit several layers simultaneously: traders create volume, launchpads collect protocol fees, liquidity venues process swaps, and the underlying chain receives transaction fees.

That is a more developed economic structure than a single meme token pumping in isolation.

Robinhood Chain's Original RWA Thesis Has Not Disappeared

It would be easy to interpret the meme boom as Robinhood Chain abandoning its original purpose.

That conclusion is too simplistic.

Robinhood still describes Robinhood Chain as a network designed to bring traditional markets, crypto and real-world assets together. Its July mainnet announcement emphasized Stock Tokens, onchain lending, collateral use and programmable financial applications.

The meme market is increasingly interacting with that architecture rather than merely sitting beside it.

This is what makes the current cycle unusual.

The network did not move cleanly from “serious RWA chain” to “meme chain.” Instead, the two markets are beginning to overlap.

In some cases, meme speculation is actually increasing the utility and turnover of the Stock Tokens that represented Robinhood Chain's original thesis.

What Could Break the Flywheel?

There are also clear reasons to remain cautious.

First, memecoin volume is highly reflexive. Rising prices attract traders, traders create volume, volume attracts new launches, and successful launches attract more capital. The same mechanism can operate in reverse when attention disappears.

Second, market capitalization is not the same as liquidity. A token can reach a large headline valuation while only a small percentage of its supply can realistically be sold near the quoted price.

Third, stock-paired memecoins introduce an additional layer of complexity. Users must understand the difference between the meme token, the Stock Token used in a liquidity pool, and the underlying company whose market exposure the Stock Token references.

MEXC's detailed guide to Robinhood Chain risks, Stock Token ownership and counterparty exposure explains why Stock Tokens should not automatically be treated like directly held shares.

Liquidity conditions can become particularly important outside underlying US equity-market hours. Crypto markets trade continuously, while the reference assets behind Stock Tokens follow traditional-market schedules. That creates the possibility of temporary price dislocations during periods of extreme speculative demand.

Sarah Chen: Watch Persistence, Not Just Peak Volume

Sarah Chen argues that the next stage should be judged less by whether Robinhood Chain produces another 10x memecoin and more by whether its current activity remains diversified after speculative momentum normalizes.

Three indicators will be especially useful: the percentage of DEX activity that survives after major meme rallies cool, the amount of Stock Token liquidity that remains productively deployed onchain, and the ability of launchpads to generate repeat activity without depending on a handful of breakout tokens.

That is ultimately the test separating a trading event from an ecosystem transition. Record volume proves Robinhood Chain can attract capital. Persistent liquidity, repeat users and multiple durable applications would provide stronger evidence that the network can retain it.

What Comes Next for Robinhood Chain?

Robinhood Chain now sits at an unusual intersection.

It has recognizable financial assets through Robinhood Stock Tokens.

It has a rapidly growing speculative layer represented by CASHCAT, Artificial Inu, MOO and other community tokens.

It has token-launch infrastructure led by platforms such as Pons and LONG.

And it has a broader programmable-finance roadmap that extends into lending and even AI-driven financial applications. MEXC has previously examined that longer-term direction in its guide to Robinhood Chain AI agents, wallet permissions and agentic trading.

The question now is whether these components remain separate pockets of activity or develop into a connected liquidity ecosystem.

For the moment, the evidence points increasingly toward connection.

The first Robinhood Chain meme cycle proved that attention could bring users onto the network. The PONS boom demonstrated that infrastructure could monetize that activity. Stock-paired memecoins are now testing something more ambitious: whether the speculative energy of crypto can create an entirely new source of liquidity and turnover for onchain representations of traditional financial assets.

That development is far more important than any single meme coin reaching a new all-time high.

FAQ

Why is Robinhood Chain DEX volume rising?

The recent increase reflects several overlapping trends, including heavy memecoin trading, rapid token issuance through launchpads, expanding stablecoin liquidity and growing activity around Stock Token-paired markets. DeFiLlama showed roughly $1.57 billion in 24-hour DEX volume on September 2, after volume had been below $1 billion only days earlier.

What is a stock-paired memecoin?

A stock-paired memecoin is a community crypto token whose liquidity pool uses a Stock Token rather than only ETH or a stablecoin as the paired asset. Artificial Inu's AI/NVDA market is a prominent Robinhood Chain example.

Does holding Artificial Inu give investors NVIDIA shares?

No. Artificial Inu is a community memecoin. Holding AI does not provide NVIDIA shareholder rights merely because an important liquidity pool pairs AI with an NVDA Stock Token.

Why is Artificial Inu important to Robinhood Chain?

Artificial Inu demonstrates how meme trading and Robinhood Stock Tokens can interact directly. Its NVDA-paired market creates trading activity involving both a speculative crypto asset and an equity-linked Stock Token.

What role does PONS play in Robinhood Chain?

Pons is a token launchpad rather than simply a memecoin. Its growing fee generation demonstrates that Robinhood Chain's meme economy is producing demand for infrastructure used to create and trade new tokens.

Is CASHCAT still important to the Robinhood Chain ecosystem?

Yes. CASHCAT was the first major Robinhood Chain meme breakout and helped demonstrate that the new network could attract community-driven liquidity. The market has since evolved toward launchpads and Stock Token-paired memecoins.

Are Robinhood Stock Tokens the same as owning shares?

No. Robinhood states that its Stock Tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. They provide economic exposure to underlying securities but do not grant the same legal or beneficial rights as direct ownership of those underlying shares.

Can Robinhood Chain's meme trading volume continue growing?

It is possible, but current growth should not be extrapolated indefinitely. Memecoin markets are highly cyclical. Sustainable growth would depend on liquidity remaining on the network, users returning after speculative cycles cool, Stock Tokens gaining additional onchain use cases and applications continuing to generate meaningful activity.

Risk Warning

Memecoins are highly speculative assets and may experience extreme price volatility, limited liquidity and rapid changes in market capitalization. Stock-paired memecoins do not automatically represent ownership of, claims on or redemption rights to the underlying companies referenced by their paired Stock Tokens.

Robinhood Stock Tokens have their own product structure, issuer, liquidity and jurisdictional risks. Users should independently verify token contracts, liquidity conditions and product documentation before trading.
