MEXC is the cheaper futures venue in this comparison: an $80,000 month with 80% taker orders costs $12.80 on MEXC's BTCUSDT against $44.80 at IBIT Global's regular-user rates.
IBIT Global's own strength is free BEP20 USDT withdrawals, while MEXC is unavailable in the US and UK.

Key Takeaways
  • An $80,000 futures month, 80% filled at market, costs $12.80 on MEXC's BTCUSDT and $44.80 at IBIT Global's regular-user rate of 0.040% maker and 0.060% taker.
  • IBIT Global's app listing claims USA MSB and NFA licences, but its license page shows the NFA entry only as an image, so readers have to run the NFA check themselves.
  • NFA's BASIC database records a firm's CFTC registration and NFA membership status, which are the two lines to read for any NFA claim.
  • IBIT Global's Bitcoin withdrawal fee of 0.0006 BTC was worth about $51 on 6 October 2026, against about $1.71 for MEXC's 0.00002 BTC.
  • We found no regulator warning naming IBIT Global on 5 or 6 October 2026, while MEXC's operator faces 2026 actions from Seychelles' FSA and Dubai's VARA.
  • API bots pay more on MEXC, whose API futures rates of 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker exceed IBIT Global's regular rates.

Searchers for IBIT sometimes mean BlackRock's bitcoin fund, which trades on Nasdaq under that ticker, but this page is about IBIT Global, a separate crypto exchange.
Its licence list looks reassuring until you try to check it, because it names a US money-services registration and an NFA licence but gives a number in plain text for only one of them.
This IBIT Global vs MEXC comparison prices a month of futures on each and shows how to test the licence claims yourself.

How Much Does an $80,000 Futures Month Cost on MEXC and IBIT Global?

On BTCUSDT, MEXC costs $12.80 for an $80,000 month in which 80% of trades are market orders, while IBIT Global's regular-user rates make the same month $44.80.
Almost all of the $32.00 difference comes from the taker side, where MEXC charges 0.02% and IBIT Global 0.060%.
Traders who mostly hit the market pay the taker rate on most of their volume, so that line matters more than any headline maker fee.
MEXC applies a Special Rate to BTCUSDT of 0% for makers and 0.02% for takers, as listed on the MEXC fee page.
For regular users, IBIT Global's help center sets perpetual fees at 0.040% for makers and 0.060% for takers, and its VIP thresholds are not published where we could find them.
Over a year, the difference at this volume comes to $384.
On a mid-range MEXC contract such as ZECUSDT, at 0.010% maker and 0.040% for takers, the month comes to $27.20, still below IBIT Global.
The comparison flips at the top of MEXC's range, 0.040% maker and 0.100% taker, where the month would cost $70.40, and through MEXC's API, where 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker make it $60.80.
Our check of which exchanges publish fees without an account shows how rare a complete schedule is.

The MEXC View

This is MEXC making its own case, and readers should discount it the way they would any company's description of itself.
IBIT Global's free BEP20 withdrawals and its VIP discounts for heavy traders are real, and so are the regulatory actions that Seychelles and Dubai have taken against our operator.
What we can put forward is a lower taker rate on the contract most futures traders use, a fee page anyone can read, and a reserve report audited by Hacken each month.
US, UK and EU residents who need a platform licensed in their own jurisdiction should not choose MEXC.

What Do Six Checks Show for MEXC and IBIT Global?

The table lines up six checks a futures trader can verify, from fees and markets to trust signals and account rules, with each figure dated in the note underneath.
The rows follow the criteria behind every comparison here, so the same six questions are asked of both exchanges.

What Does IBIT Global's NFA Claim Actually Show?

IBIT Global's App Store listing says it has secured USA MSB and NFA licences, and its license page gives a FinCEN registration number in text but shows the NFA entry only as an image, and points readers to NFA's homepage instead.
NFA is the self-regulatory organization for the US derivatives industry, designated by the CFTC, and its BASIC database records each firm's CFTC registration and NFA membership history, as NFA's website explains.
Those two status lines, not the existence of a profile, are what answer the question.
To check, search BASIC for the legal name IBIT GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY INC and read whether it is listed as an NFA member and under which CFTC registration, if any.
We have not reproduced a BASIC result here, because the NFA ID behind IBIT's claim is not given in text on its license page.
Its FinCEN registration as a Money Services Business, number 31000255178076, can be checked separately through FinCEN's MSB search.
A record with NFA concerns derivatives business and does not, on its own, say anything about how an exchange holds customer assets.

How Do Withdrawal Fees Compare?

It depends on the coin: IBIT Global charges nothing to withdraw USDT on BEP20, but its Bitcoin withdrawal fee of 0.0006 BTC was worth about $51 at 6 October prices, against 0.00002 BTC, or about $1.71, on MEXC as last recorded.
IBIT Global's table also lists 1.5 USDT on TRC20 and 8 USDT on ERC20, with a 25 USDT minimum on each network, while MEXC's TRC-20 USDT fee was 0.5 USDT when recorded on 28 August 2026.
Stablecoin movers who can use BEP20 will pay less at IBIT Global, while anyone withdrawing Bitcoin will pay far less at MEXC.
Both exchanges adjust these fees over time, so check the withdrawal screen before sending.

Which Exchange Can You Verify More Of?

You can verify more of MEXC: a CoinGecko score of 9 out of 10, a monthly Hacken-audited reserve report and a public fee page, against IBIT Global's fee page and licence claims with no tracker profile or reserve report behind them.
Each side also has regulatory facts to weigh.
A CoinGecko Trust Score blends five inputs, with liquidity weighted most and reserve disclosure among the rest, under the tracker's published scoring rules.
IBIT Global had no CoinGecko exchange page when we searched on 5 October 2026, and its help center offers no proof-of-reserves report.
On 6 October 2026, CoinGecko listed about $618 million in MEXC exchange reserves alongside a score of 9 out of 10.
Its monthly reserve snapshots, the latest dated 10 September 2026 with BTC covered at 297%, are posted on the MEXC proof-of-reserves page.
Reserves become the whole story when an exchange is breached, as the repayment record across 81 exchange breaches shows.
Searches of regulator warning lists on 5 and 6 October 2026, including Hong Kong's SFC Alert List, turned up nothing naming IBIT Global.
MEXC's lone CoinGecko licence entry is from Comoros, and the tracker treats that framework as defined but unproven.
Seychelles' regulator, the Financial Services Authority, stated that MX Global Ltd operated MEXC without the licence its 2024 virtual asset law requires and that enforcement was starting, according to a May 2026 press release.
In June 2026 Dubai's VARA imposed a fine on the same company for serving Dubai customers without a licence from 2022 to April 2026, according to its notice of fines, which also notes the company's cooperation.

Who Is Better Served by MEXC, and Who by IBIT Global?

MEXC suits futures traders who mostly use market orders on BTC or ETH contracts and want reserves and fees they can check before depositing.
IBIT Global suits traders who move stablecoins often and value free BEP20 withdrawals, or who trade enough to reach its VIP rates.
Before depositing anywhere, test the claims yourself: look the exchange up on CoinGecko and search any licence it names in the issuing body's own register.
For US, UK and Australian readers this is reference material, and the right platform is one licensed where you live.
EU and EEA readers should factor in MEXC's lack of MiCA authorization and, in the Netherlands, an offboarding deadline of 31 October 2026 ahead of closure on 16 November.

Risk Warning and Regional Notice

Perpetual futures and leverage amplify both gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated for the full margin amount.
At 500x, a move of roughly 0.2% against a position can trigger liquidation, so high tiers suit only experienced traders with strict risk controls.
This article is informational for readers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where the platforms discussed may not be available or authorised.
In the EU and EEA, MEXC is not authorized under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The Dutch regulator AFM has placed MEXC on its register of non-compliant entities, which ESMA republishes, and readers in those regions should factor this status into any decision.
In a May 26, 2026 press release, the Seychelles Financial Services Authority said the company it identifies as operating the MEXC platform does not hold a licence under its Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024, that it is initiating enforcement measures, and that the public should exercise caution when dealing with the platform.
In a June 22, 2026 notice of fines, Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority said the entity operating as MEXC had served customers in Dubai without a licence from 2022 to April 2026 and onboarded users without meeting UAE know-your-customer requirements, and that it cooperated, complied with cease-and-desist orders and intends to seek a licence.
