To transfer crypto from OKX to another exchange, copy a deposit address from the destination, open Assets and Withdraw, choose Withdraw crypto, paste the address with any tag on a network both platforms support, and confirm with your authenticator and email codes.
The network sets the fee: 1.5 USDT on Tron against 0.0035 on Arbitrum, per OKX's page.
Key Takeaways
OKX's withdrawal form draws from the Funding account first and tops up from the Trading account, so no manual transfer is needed unless funds are occupied.
Margin behind open positions, Simple Earn and On-chain Earn subscriptions, and sub-account balances all have to be released before they can leave.
Changing your login password, phone, email or authenticator pauses every OKX withdrawal for 24 hours, while a first-time binding does not.
On September 9, 2026, OKX charged 1.5 USDT to withdraw USDT on Tron and 0.0035 USDT on Arbitrum One, so the network matters more than the platform.
An internal transfer to another OKX user is instant and free, but it cannot reach a different exchange.
OKX lets you label the destination as an exchange or a wallet, and its guide says a wrong label does not stop the withdrawal.
Two reasons come up more than any other: what each trade costs, and what happens when OKX leaves a market.
Start with cost.
OKX's fee page lists its Regular tier at 0.0800% for makers and 0.1000% for takers on spot, and at 0.0200% and 0.0500% on futures, as of September 9, 2026.
Those rates are in line with other large exchanges, and they still add up for anyone who takes liquidity every day.
Then geography.
OKX has left markets before, and each time it gave customers a date.
Each notice came with weeks to withdraw, which is the point: an orderly exit gives you time, and the steps below are the same whether you have weeks or an afternoon.
None of this is a solvency story.
OKX makes the first part easy.
Its withdrawal form offers the Funding account and the Trading account as sources, and if Funding falls short the remainder is taken from Trading automatically.
What the form cannot use is anything OKX marks as occupied or held.
Where the balance sits | Can the withdrawal form use it? | How to release it |
Funding account | Yes, it is used first | Nothing to release |
Trading account, free balance | Yes, it tops up the amount when Funding is short | Nothing to release |
Margin behind open positions | No, OKX shows it as occupied | Close or reduce the positions |
Simple Earn or On-chain Earn | No, OKX shows it as occupied | Redeem, or wait until the Earn period ends |
Sub-account balance | No, not directly | Transfer it to the main account first |
Coins bought through P2P under a T+N hold | No, until the period ends | Wait for the period shown on screen |
Recent deposit below the withdrawal-unlock confirmations | No, for that amount | Wait; the deposit page shows one count for arrival and another for withdrawal unlock |
Amount under double-spend risk control | No, for the amount equal to the deposit | Wait for the recovery time shown on the withdrawal page |
Data verified as of September 21, 2026 against OKX's official help center articles on making a withdrawal and on withdrawal restrictions.
The seventh row catches people who deposit and try to leave on the same day.
OKX shows two counts on the deposit page, one for arrival and one for withdrawal unlock, and its help center says the platform cannot speed up block confirmations.
OKX applies a 24-hour hold to on-chain withdrawals and internal transfers after certain account changes, per its help article on withdrawal restrictions, updated August 5, 2026.
Changing your login password
Changing your phone number, email address or authenticator app
Adding an address while the new address withdrawal lock is on, which holds that address for 24 hours
Binding an email, phone number or authenticator for the first time does not start the clock.
The new address lock can be switched off under Address Book, then Address settings.
A separate 48-hour restriction applies when OKX flags a withdrawal address as high-risk, and the reason arrives by email.
If you plan to change a password before a large move, do it a day ahead.
A withdrawal needs an address, so the receiving account has to exist before the sending one does anything.
Test a destination on three points.
Does it credit your coin on a network OKX offers?
Does it serve the country you live in?
Will it cost you less per trade than OKX does, given that trading fees repeat and a withdrawal fee does not?
The cost of leaving is a network fee, paid once.
The cost of staying is a taker rate, paid on every fill.
MEXC's fee page lists spot trading at 0.0000% for makers and 0.0500% for takers, and the BTCUSDT perpetual at 0.000% for makers and 0.020% for takers, as of September 10, 2026.
Here is what that gap is worth over a year.
Product and monthly volume | OKX Regular tier, per year | MEXC, per year | Difference per year |
BTCUSDT perpetual, taker, $100,000 a month | $600 at 0.0500% | $240 at 0.020% | $360 |
BTCUSDT perpetual, taker, $500,000 a month | $3,000 at 0.0500% | $1,200 at 0.020% | $1,800 |
BTCUSDT perpetual, taker, $1,000,000 a month | $6,000 at 0.0500% | $2,400 at 0.020% | $3,600 |
Spot, taker, $20,000 a month | $240 at 0.1000% | $120 at 0.0500% | $120 |
Spot, maker, $20,000 a month | $192 at 0.0800% | $0 at 0.0000% | $192 |
Data verified against OKX's fee page as of September 9, 2026 and MEXC's fee page as of September 10, 2026; each figure is monthly volume multiplied by the rate and by 12.
At $500,000 a month in BTCUSDT perpetual taker volume the difference is $1,800 a year, set against a withdrawal that can cost less than one cent on the right network.
The numbers have limits, and they belong on the page.
MEXC futures rates are pair-specific, and standard-tier pairs sit at 0.010% for makers and 0.040% for takers.
Orders sent through the MEXC API follow a separate futures schedule of 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, which is above OKX's Regular rates, so an API trader pays less at OKX.
OKX's VIP tiers lower its rates for large accounts, and OKX runs an options market that MEXC does not have.
On reserves, MEXC publishes Proof of Reserves with Merkle tree verification, so any user can check that their own balance is included. If you live outside the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the other restricted jurisdictions, and trading cost is why you are moving, open the receiving account before you open the withdrawal form.
OKX charges a network fee per withdrawal, and the same coin costs very different amounts depending on the chain.
The OKX internal transfer fee is zero and the transfer is instant, but it only reaches another verified OKX user, so it cannot move funds to a different exchange.
This is what OKX's withdrawal fee page showed for USDT on September 9, 2026.
Network | USDT withdrawal fee on OKX | Minimum withdrawal, where recorded |
Tron (TRC-20) | 1.5 USDT | 9.3 USDT |
Ethereum (ERC-20) | 0.4 USDT | 1.4 USDT |
Solana | 0.29 USDT | Not recorded |
TON | 0.026 USDT | Not recorded |
Unichain | 0.016 USDT | Not recorded |

Tron is the habit most people bring from other platforms, and on that date it was the most expensive route on the list, with a 9.3 USDT minimum.
A cheap chain only helps if the destination credits it, so treat this table as half of the decision.
Start from the destination, not from the fee table.
List the networks the destination accepts for your coin, list the networks OKX offers for it, and keep only the ones on both lists.
Within that overlap, take the cheapest.
MEXC, for example, has supported USDT on the Toncoin network since April 2024, alongside Tron, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Arbitrum and Polygon, which leaves an OKX user several low-fee routes. OKX's guide states the rule plainly: the network on the other exchange has to match the OKX withdrawal network, or the assets may be lost.
Coins such as XRP need a tag as well as an address, and OKX warns that a withdrawal without the tag will be lost.
OKX also notes that some assets, ZEC among them, have special address requirements.
Addresses that begin with 0x look the same on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and other EVM chains, so the address itself will never tell you that you picked the wrong one.
Step 1: Release what is occupied.
Close or reduce positions, redeem Earn subscriptions and move sub-account balances to the main account.
Step 2: Get the deposit address from your destination.
On MEXC, go to Wallets, then Deposit, then On-Chain Deposit, choose the coin and the network, and copy the address, as described in MEXC's guide on how to deposit crypto on the web. Copy the memo or tag too if the deposit page shows one.
Step 3: Open the OKX withdrawal form.
Go to Assets, then Withdraw, then Withdraw crypto, and select the coin.
Choose a new or saved destination and the network.
OKX asks whether the recipient is an exchange or a wallet, and its guide says the withdrawal is still processed if you pick the wrong label, as long as the address and network are right.
Step 4: Enter the address, the amount and the source account.
The amount has to sit above the minimum and within your limit, and you can choose Funding or Trading as the source.
If you use allowlist mode, OKX only sends to addresses already in your address book.
Step 5: Send a test transfer, then confirm.
Move a minimum-size amount first and wait for it to credit.
When your phone, email and authenticator are all bound, OKX asks for the authenticator code and the email code, and SMS cannot be used instead.
OKX's guide says a request can be cancelled within one minute at no charge.
Step 6: Track the four statuses.
A request moves through Withdrawal Requested, Pending, Withdrawing and Completed.
Completed means the assets have left OKX, and from that point OKX directs you to the receiving platform.
OKX's help center says requests are handled in the order submitted and that a request stuck at Pending for more than an hour is a reason to contact support, per its arrival FAQ retrieved September 9, 2026.
Completed on OKX is the halfway mark.
The destination still has to see enough confirmations, match the deposit to your account and credit it.
On MEXC, Bitcoin deposits credit after 2 block confirmations, Ethereum after 10, and USDT on ERC-20 after 96 network confirmations, according to the MEXC deposit and withdrawal guide. To follow a deposit, open Wallets, then Funding History, then Deposit, and use the TxID link to the block explorer.
MEXC's support guide lists the reasons a confirmed deposit is not credited, and each has a defined route.
Wrong network for the address you copied: submit an Uncredited Deposit Return Application as soon as possible.
A network MEXC does not support for that token: the deposit is not credited, so check the deposit page before sending.
Missing or incorrect memo or tag, for example on XRP, TON or ATOM: submit the return application, which is typically reviewed in 1 to 2 business days.
A token contract address that does not match the one MEXC supports: the deposit is not credited.
A deposit made through a smart contract transfer: it needs manual processing through the same application.
MEXC's KYC FAQ lists daily withdrawal limits of 80 BTC at Primary verification and 200 BTC at Advanced, per the MEXC support page retrieved September 8, 2026, which answers the question of whether you can get funds out again later.
The withdraw button is greyed out.
OKX's own diagnosis starts here: a button you cannot press points to a risk-control restriction or a suspension notice, not to a mistake in the form.
The form returns an error after you submit.
Match the wording to the cause: a 24-hour message means a security change, T+N means a recent P2P purchase, and a confirmations message means a recent deposit.
Figure 5: OKX withdrawal blockers, condensed from OKX's help center article updated August 5, 2026.
The available amount is lower than your balance.
Funds are occupied as margin or sitting in Earn, so go back to the account table.
OKX shows Completed and nothing has arrived.
The receiving platform is now the one to ask, with the TxID ready.
Someone contacts you offering to fix it.
OKX warns on its restrictions page that any contact through unofficial channels such as QQ, Telegram or WeChat asking for transfers, QR code scans or verification codes is a scam.
No support agent needs your password, your seed phrase or your verification codes.
Other countries treat transfers in their own ways, and this is not tax advice.
The practical risk is losing your records.
Your purchase prices live in the history of the account you are leaving, and that history is harder to retrieve once the account is closed or restricted.
Export your trade, deposit and withdrawal history before you finish, and keep each withdrawal TxID with it.
United States.
OKX serves US customers through a separate platform, OKX US, which displays NMLS number 1767779 on its site.
MEXC's User Agreement lists the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, so nothing in this guide is an invitation to open a MEXC account from there. European Economic Area.
OKX announced on January 27, 2025 that it had secured a MiCA licence through its Malta hub, so an EEA resident already has an authorised venue and has no reason to move to MEXC because of this guide.
MEXC does not hold a MiCA authorisation and appears on ESMA's register of non-compliant entities following a decision by the Dutch AFM in September 2025.
MEXC is also leaving the Netherlands, with offboarding running to October 31, 2026 and final offboarding on November 16, 2026.
United Kingdom.
MEXC's User Agreement lists the United Kingdom as a prohibited jurisdiction, so UK readers should look to firms authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Japan.
Japan does not appear among the prohibited jurisdictions in MEXC's User Agreement, but the MEXC apps cannot be downloaded from Japanese iOS or Android stores, per MEXC's own restricted regions article. MEXC appears on the Financial Services Agency's list of unregistered operators, with entries in March 2023 and November 2024.
If supervision under Japanese law matters to you, an FSA-registered domestic exchange is the appropriate destination.
We run an exchange, so we gain when a reader moves to us, and you should read this page knowing that.
OKX's help article on blocked withdrawals is the clearest self-diagnosis page we have read on any exchange, and the restrictions section of this guide is built on it.
OKX holds licences in the United States and the European Economic Area that we do not hold.
Its 24-hour withdrawal limit starts at 10,000,000 USD for Regular accounts, per its fee page as of September 9, 2026, which for an individual is no limit at all.
Its API rates are lower than ours, and it offers options, which we do not.
Our case is narrow and checkable: a trader who places spot or BTCUSDT perpetual orders by hand pays less on our published schedule at every size in the table above.
How do I transfer crypto from OKX to another exchange?
Copy a deposit address from the destination, then use Assets, Withdraw and Withdraw crypto on OKX with a network both platforms support.
Confirm with your authenticator and email codes.
What is the OKX internal transfer fee?
OKX charges nothing for an internal transfer, and it arrives instantly.
It only reaches another verified OKX user, so a move to a different exchange is always an on-chain withdrawal.
Which OKX account does a withdrawal come from?
The form offers the Funding account and the Trading account.
If Funding is short, OKX takes the remainder from Trading automatically.
Does it matter if I choose Exchange or Wallet on OKX?
OKX's guide says the label only indicates the type of recipient.
A wrong choice does not stop the withdrawal when the address and network are correct.
What is the cheapest network to withdraw USDT from OKX?
On September 9, 2026, Avalanche C-Chain, X Layer and Arbitrum One all cost under 0.004 USDT, against 1.5 USDT on Tron.
Use the cheapest one your destination also credits.
How long does an OKX withdrawal take?
OKX handles requests in the order submitted and shows four statuses, ending in Completed.
Its help center treats more than an hour at Pending as a reason to contact support.
Why can't I withdraw from OKX for 24 hours?
A changed login password, phone number, email or authenticator starts a 24-hour hold.
It lifts automatically, and a first-time binding does not trigger it.
Is there an OKX withdrawal limit?
OKX's fee page sets the 24-hour crypto withdrawal limit by fee tier, starting at 10,000,000 USD for Regular accounts as of September 9, 2026.
The web form shows your remaining amount.
Can I move crypto from OKX to MEXC?
Yes, if MEXC serves your country, by withdrawing on a network both platforms support.
MEXC does not serve the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.
On-chain transfers are irreversible, and funds sent to a wrong address or an unsupported network may be permanently unrecoverable.
Futures and perpetual contracts use leverage, and losses can exceed anything a lower fee returns.
Fees, limits, supported networks and regional availability change without notice, so confirm every figure inside the platform at the time you transfer.
Check whether a platform serves your jurisdiction before opening an account, and do not use tools to bypass geographic restrictions.
