To transfer crypto from Bybit to another exchange, copy a deposit address from the destination for a network both platforms support, open Assets and Withdraw on Bybit, choose on-chain withdrawal, paste the address with any memo, and confirm with your email code and Google Authenticator.
Only your transferable amount can leave, so close positions and cancel open orders first.
Key Takeaways
Bybit's withdrawal page can draw from the Funding, Unified Trading and Earn accounts, while copy trading, trading bots and fixed-term Earn have to return to Funding first.
The transferable amount excludes unrealized profit, initial margin and funds frozen by open orders, and nothing more can leave the Unified Trading Account once IMR reaches 100%.
Nine security changes, including a password or Google Authenticator reset, block every Bybit withdrawal for 24 hours.
Bybit shows the fee and the minimum for each chain inside the withdrawal window, and an internal transfer to another Bybit user carries no withdrawal fee.
A Travel Rule form can ask for the destination exchange and the recipient's name, and its preliminary review may take up to 30 minutes.
Moving coins between your own accounts is generally not a sale, but Bybit's All Transactions tab only reaches back 90 days, so export older history before you leave.
Most exits are undramatic: a fee schedule that stopped adding up, a listing that never arrived, or a country that dropped off the supported list.
Cost is the quiet one.
Bybit's help center lists non-VIP perpetual and futures fees at 0.02% for makers and 0.055% for takers, and spot fees at 0.1% on both sides, per Bybit's official fee overview, retrieved September 21, 2026.
A trader who takes liquidity all day pays that taker rate on every fill, and it is the one cost that does not pause when the market goes quiet.
Geography is the louder one.
Japanese outlet CoinPost reported the schedule in January 2026: Japan-resident accounts would move to close-only on March 23, 2026, and positions still open on July 22, 2026 would be closed by the platform.
That July date applied to open positions, and it should not be read as a withdrawal cut-off.
None of this is a solvency story, and it should not be read as one.
Bybit is more flexible than most exchanges here, because its withdrawal page can draw from three accounts instead of one.
The catch is that a balance and a withdrawable balance are not the same number.
Work through this table before you open the withdrawal window.
Where the balance sits | Can the withdrawal page use it? | How to release it |
Funding Account | Yes, it is the default source | Nothing to release, but check the Frozen and Amount Pending Release lines |
Unified Trading Account | Yes, up to the transferable amount | Close or reduce positions and cancel open orders; unrealized profit cannot be transferred out, and no more can leave once IMR reaches 100% |
Earn, Flexible Term | Yes, for coins where the Earn option appears | Select Earn as the source, or redeem to Funding first |
Earn, Fixed Term | No, not before maturity | Wait for the product to mature; principal and yield are credited back to Funding |
Copy Trading | No | Cancel the copy and let all positions close; the funds return to Funding automatically |
Trading Bot | No | Terminate the bot; the funds return to Funding |
Frozen balance inside Funding | No | Finish or cancel P2P orders, and wait out fiat withdrawals, Launchpad subscriptions, card pre-authorisations or a risk review |
Locked deposits | No, until the unlock confirmations are reached | Wait, and check the count under Funding History, then Deposit |
Bonuses | Never | Bybit states that bonuses cannot be withdrawn |
Data verified as of September 21, 2026 against Bybit's official help center articles on on-chain withdrawals, the Funding Account, the Unified Trading Account and unsuccessful withdrawal requests.
The second row is the one that surprises derivatives traders.
Bybit defines the transferable amount as the most you can move out of the Unified Trading Account for withdrawal, estimated after unrealized losses, initial margin, amounts frozen by active orders or borrowings, and haircut losses.
Unrealized profit can be used for trades but cannot be transferred out, so a winning position has to be closed before its gains can travel.
Bybit's withdrawal guide also warns that withdrawing from the Unified Trading Account might increase the IMR and MMR of the account.
In plain terms, pulling collateral out from under open positions moves them closer to liquidation.
Close or shrink positions first, then move the freed balance.
One inconsistency is worth knowing about.
Bybit's Funding Account guide still tells users to transfer funds into Funding before withdrawing, while its newer withdrawal guide lets the page draw from three accounts.
Moving everything into Funding first satisfies both, and it leaves you with a single number to check.
Bybit restricts withdrawals for 24 hours after any of the following actions, per its on-chain withdrawal FAQ, updated April 12, 2026.
Changing or resetting your account password
Changing or resetting your registered mobile number
Changing or disabling your email address
Activating or disabling the New Address Withdrawal Lock
Disabling or resetting Google Authenticator
Changing or disabling your Fund Password
Transferring your KYC identity to another account
Self-reactivating your account
Removing your passkeys
Bybit counts on-chain withdrawals, internal transfers, fiat withdrawals, Bybit Card transactions and P2P trades as withdrawals for this purpose.
If you plan to tighten security before a large move, do it a day early.
You cannot start a withdrawal without an address to send to, so the receiving account comes first in practice, whatever order most guides use.
Check three things before you commit to a destination.
It has to accept your coin on a network Bybit also offers.
It has to serve the country you live in.
And it should charge less than the place you are leaving, because trading fees recur and the withdrawal fee does not.
Leaving costs one withdrawal fee, once.
Staying costs the taker rate on every fill, for as long as you keep trading there.
MEXC's fee page lists spot trading at 0.0000% for makers and 0.0500% for takers, and the BTCUSDT perpetual at 0.000% for makers and 0.020% for takers, as of September 10, 2026.
Put real numbers on it.
Product and monthly taker volume | Bybit non-VIP, per year | MEXC, per year | Difference per year |
BTCUSDT perpetual, $100,000 a month | $660 at 0.055% | $240 at 0.020% | $420 |
BTCUSDT perpetual, $500,000 a month | $3,300 at 0.055% | $1,200 at 0.020% | $2,100 |
BTCUSDT perpetual, $1,000,000 a month | $6,600 at 0.055% | $2,400 at 0.020% | $4,200 |
Spot, $20,000 a month | $240 at 0.1% | $120 at 0.0500% | $120 |
Data verified as of September 21, 2026 against Bybit's official fee overview, and against MEXC's fee page as of September 10, 2026; each figure is monthly volume multiplied by the taker rate and by 12.
At $500,000 a month in BTCUSDT perpetual taker volume, the gap is $2,100 a year, against a one-off withdrawal fee of a few dollars.
Resting limit orders widen it, since a maker order on BTCUSDT costs nothing on the MEXC schedule.
Three boundaries keep those numbers honest.
MEXC futures rates are pair-specific, and standard-tier pairs sit at 0.010% for makers and 0.040% for takers.
Orders placed through the MEXC API follow a separate futures schedule of 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, which is higher than Bybit's non-VIP rates, so an API or bot trader is cheaper staying put.
Bybit's VIP tiers also lower its rates for large accounts, so run the sum with your own tier.
On reserves, MEXC publishes Proof of Reserves with Merkle tree verification, so any user can check that their own balance is included. If you live outside the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the other restricted jurisdictions, and taker fees are the reason you are moving, set up the receiving account before you touch the withdrawal page.
Bybit charges a fixed withdrawal fee that depends on the coin and the chain, and the figure appears in the withdrawal window as soon as you select both.
The same numbers, with each chain's minimum withdrawal amount, sit on Bybit's deposit and withdrawal status page.
The Bybit internal transfer fee is zero, but an internal transfer only reaches another Bybit account, so it cannot move funds to a different exchange.
Bybit's own FAQ explains why its on-chain fees run relatively high: it charges a fixed fee and sets the batch miner fee higher so that withdrawals confirm faster.
Traders cannot set their own fee.
By default the fee is deducted from the amount you enter, and you can switch that setting so the amount entered equals the amount received.
We do not print a fee table here, because fixed fees are revised and a stale number is worse than none.
Read the live figure for every chain your destination accepts, then compare.
Network choice is where irreversible mistakes happen, and the usual cause is picking the cheapest chain instead of a compatible one.
Open the deposit page on the destination and note every network it accepts for your coin.
Open the Bybit withdrawal window for the same coin and note every chain it offers.
Only chains on both lists are usable, and within that overlap you can take the cheapest.
A worked example helps.
MEXC has supported USDT on the Toncoin network since April 2024, alongside Tron, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana. A wide overlap like that usually leaves a Bybit user several compatible routes, while a destination that only accepts Ethereum leaves none to choose from.
Three chain-level details are specific to Bybit.
Bybit sends ETH by direct transfer and does not support smart contract withdrawals, which matters because MEXC warns that deposits made through contract transfers may not be credited automatically.
Bybit supports withdrawals to SegWit Bitcoin addresses that begin with bc1.
Bybit's FAQ also says it will process a withdrawal to an address without a tag or memo, and that checking whether the destination needs one is the trader's sole responsibility.
Addresses beginning with 0x look identical on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon and several layer twos, so the address format will not warn you about a chain mismatch.
Step 1: Consolidate what you are moving.
Close positions, cancel open orders, stop bots and copy trades, then transfer the freed balances to your Funding Account.
Step 2: Get the deposit address from your destination first.
On MEXC, go to Wallets, then Deposit, then On-Chain Deposit, choose the coin and the network, and copy the address, as set out in MEXC's guide on how to deposit crypto on the web. Copy the memo separately if the deposit page shows one.
Step 3: Open the Bybit withdrawal page.
Go to Assets, then Withdraw, select the coin, enter the address or pick it from your address book, and choose the chain.
Read the fee and the minimum shown for that chain, and check the remaining daily limit displayed beside the form.
Step 4: Send a test transfer.
Move the minimum permitted amount first, confirm it credits on the other side, and only then send the rest.
Step 5: Verify and confirm.
Check the first six and last six characters of the pasted address against the source, since clipboard-hijacking malware relies on people skipping that check.
Bybit requires email verification and Google Authenticator to be set up before any on-chain withdrawal, and the email code is valid for five minutes.
Addresses already verified in your withdrawal whitelist skip the two-factor step.
Step 6: Answer the Travel Rule form if it appears, then track the transfer.
Depending on local rules, Bybit opens a Travel Rule window after you submit.
Choose Exchange or crypto service provider, pick the destination from the list or select Other and type its name, select Individual, and enter the recipient's name as it appears on your destination account.
Bybit says inaccurate details can fail the verification and that the preliminary review may take up to 30 minutes.
A request moves through Under Review, Withdrawal In Progress, Sent and Withdrawal Completed, and only a request still pending review can be cancelled.
Bybit's FAQ says an instant withdrawal may take up to 15 minutes, while its how-to guide allows 30 minutes to one hour, and both warn that congestion extends this.
Copy the TXID from Funding Account History, then Withdraw.
Guides that stop at the send button leave out half the job.
The receiving platform decides when a confirmed transaction becomes a usable balance, and its rules explain most transfers that seem to vanish.
On MEXC, Bitcoin deposits credit after 2 block confirmations, Ethereum after 10, and USDT on ERC-20 after 96 network confirmations, according to the MEXC deposit and withdrawal guide. MEXC's support guide separates confirmations for pre-crediting from those for full crediting, so a deposit can appear before it can be withdrawn again.
To check progress, open Wallets, then Funding History, then Deposit, and follow the TxID link to the block explorer.
If the chain shows success and MEXC shows nothing, the cause is usually one of six things.
Why a deposit to MEXC is not credited | What MEXC's support guide says to do |
Wrong network for the address you copied | Submit an Uncredited Deposit Return Application as soon as possible |
Network that MEXC does not support for that token | The deposit is not credited; check supported networks on the deposit page before sending |
Missing or incorrect memo or tag, for example on XRP, TON or ATOM | Submit the return application; review typically takes 1 to 2 business days |
Token contract address does not match the one MEXC supports | The deposit is not credited; compare contract addresses before sending |
Deposit made through a smart contract transfer | Needs manual processing through the return application |
Several transfers bundled under one TxID | Submit the return application and add :99999999 after the TxID |
Data verified as of September 21, 2026 against MEXC's official support articles on deposits and uncredited deposits.
Check your verification level on the receiving side too.
MEXC's KYC FAQ lists daily withdrawal limits of 80 BTC at Primary verification and 200 BTC at Advanced, per the MEXC support page retrieved September 8, 2026.
The transferable amount is smaller than your balance.
Margin, open orders and unrealized profit are holding it back, so return to the account table above.
The request will not submit.
Bybit lists nine causes, from locked deposits to a suspended chain, and each one is visible before you confirm.
The status sits at Pending Verification.
That is the Travel Rule check, and it clears once you complete the wallet ownership form under Withdrawal History.
Bybit shows Completed, and nothing has arrived.
Bybit directs you to the receiving platform with the TXID in hand, and the table in the previous section covers what the receiving side looks for.
Someone offers to help you recover it.
Support does not need your password, your seed phrase or your two-factor codes.
Reach support only through the help center inside the platform itself, never through a link in a direct message.
Many jurisdictions take a similar line, but tax treatment differs by country and this is not tax advice.
What a move does create is a records problem.
Your purchase prices live in the trade history of the platform you are leaving.
Bybit's All Transactions tab only displays logs within a 90-day window, and older activity has to be pulled from the History tab.
Export your trade, deposit and withdrawal history before you finish the move, and save each withdrawal TXID beside it.
United States.
MEXC's User Agreement lists the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, so nothing in this guide is an invitation to open a MEXC account from there. US residents should use a platform registered with FinCEN and licensed in their state.
United Kingdom.
MEXC's User Agreement lists the United Kingdom as a prohibited jurisdiction, so UK readers should look to firms authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
European Economic Area.
Bybit serves the bloc through Bybit EU under its Austrian MiCA licence, so an EEA resident already has an authorised venue and has no reason to move to MEXC because of this guide.
MEXC does not hold a MiCA authorisation and appears on ESMA's register of non-compliant entities following a decision by the Dutch AFM in September 2025.
MEXC is also leaving the Netherlands, with offboarding running to October 31, 2026 and final offboarding on November 16, 2026.
Japan.
Japan does not appear among the prohibited jurisdictions in MEXC's User Agreement, but the MEXC apps cannot be downloaded from Japanese iOS or Android stores, per MEXC's own restricted regions article. MEXC appears on the Financial Services Agency's list of unregistered operators, with entries in March 2023 and November 2024.
If supervision under Japanese law matters to you, an FSA-registered domestic exchange is the appropriate destination.
We run an exchange, so we gain when a reader moves to us, and you should weigh this page with that in mind.
Bybit documents its withdrawal rules better than most: the nine failure reasons, the seven statuses and the Travel Rule form are all published, and we built this guide from them.
It kept withdrawals open through the largest hack on record, and its EU entity holds a licence that we do not.
Its non-VIP API rates are lower than ours.
Where we think the move pays is narrower and easy to test: a taker who trades BTCUSDT perpetuals or spot by hand pays less on our published schedule, every month, at every size in the table above.
How do I transfer crypto from Bybit to another exchange?
Copy a deposit address from the destination, then use Assets and Withdraw on Bybit with a chain both platforms support.
Confirm with your email code and Google Authenticator, and complete the Travel Rule form if it appears.
What is the Bybit internal transfer fee?
Bybit charges no withdrawal fee for an internal transfer.
It only reaches another Bybit account, so moving to a different exchange always means an on-chain withdrawal with a fee.
Why is my Bybit transferable amount lower than my balance?
Bybit subtracts unrealized losses, initial margin and funds frozen by open orders or borrowings.
Unrealized profit cannot be transferred out until the position is closed.
Which Bybit account can withdraw?
Bybit's withdrawal guide says the withdrawal page can draw from the Funding, Unified Trading and Earn accounts.
Copy trading, bot and fixed-term Earn balances must return to Funding first.
What is the cheapest network to withdraw from Bybit?
It depends on the coin, and Bybit shows a fixed fee for each chain once you select it.
Compare only the chains your destination also accepts.
How long does a Bybit withdrawal take?
Bybit's FAQ says an instant withdrawal may take up to 15 minutes, and its guide allows 30 minutes to one hour.
A Travel Rule review can add up to 30 minutes.
Why is Bybit asking which exchange I am sending to?
That is the Travel Rule form, which collects the destination and the recipient's name where local rules require it.
Select the destination from the list, or choose Other and type its name.
Can I still withdraw from Bybit in Japan?
The July 22, 2026 date in Bybit's Japan schedule applied to closing open positions.
Check Bybit's current notices for your account before you plan a transfer.
Do I have to sell my crypto to move it off Bybit?
No, an on-chain transfer moves the same asset to a new account.
Export your history first, because Bybit's All Transactions tab only shows 90 days.
On-chain transfers are irreversible, and funds sent to a wrong address or an unsupported network may be permanently unrecoverable.
Futures and perpetual contracts use leverage, and losses can exceed what a fee saving will ever return.
Fees, limits, supported chains and regional availability change without notice, so confirm every figure inside the platform at the time you transfer.
Check whether a platform serves your jurisdiction before opening an account, and do not use tools to bypass geographic restrictions.
