Rainbow Six At Gulfstream Park On PegasusWorld Cup Day Has Promise

Pegasus World Cup morning line favorite Disco Time is a potential single to dance with in a pick six play

The thought of a winning pick six ticket can be quite dreamy to those of us who enjoy a bit of speculation on the ponies. A winning wager of that nature at Gulfstream Park on Pegasus World Cup Day could be more than a game changer.

On January 24, the Rainbow Six at Gulfstream has lots of potential as the pool for this 20 cent wager is expected to exceed $4 million. So let’s define this in a way all us sports fans can understand.

The pick six is a wager in which you select the winners in the last six races of the racing day. The ticket has to be submitted before the opening leg of the sequence begins. At Gulfstream Park the bet is only 20-cents for each combination. Most players select multiple horses in each race as picking six consecutive winners is absolutely no easy feat. With that in mind, every combination will cost 20-cents, thusly things can add up quite quickly. For instance, if you select three horses in each race, your ticket price would be $145.80. Often times these multi-race wagers will see bettors pooling their money and splitting the winnings as the ticket price can become quite costly, even at 20-cents.

Now, why is the January 24 Rainbow Six so attractive? The Rainbow Six has a jackpot feature meaning if there is only one winning ticket, they get all the money in the pool. If there are more than just one winning ticket, a percentage of the pool is paid out and a percentage carries over to the next day of racing. That carryover increases the money pool each racing day for the pick six. On January 24, there will be a mandatory payout meaning no matter how many winning tickets there are, the entire pool will be divided amongst the winning tickets. The last six races of the day at Gulfstream on Pegasus Day are all Stakes races with five of the races featuring full twelve horse fields and the other race has nine horses. That means the competition in the races is fierce and could result in upset winners. That attracts bigger tickets and more players as the mandatory payout with longer shot winners can equate to a massive payout for those guessing right.

One of the attractions of playing the ponies is the presence of a low risk high yield scenario. These multi-race wagers can absolutely produce prolific payouts. So how do we rob the bank with a modest ticket? The best thing to do is find a single in one of the races. If you select one horse in one leg and three horses in the other legs, your ticket price shrinks to just $48.60. Only one horse wins, so we know there is a single in every race, question is, can you find it?

The different combinations are fun to play with and obviously the more singles you find the deeper you can go in other races to try and cash that day-maker or maybe even life changer. Two singles and four wide in four legs is a $51.20 play. You get the idea here, however coming up with singles on days like these is not as easy as going to Match.com.

Knightsbridge is a logical single to play in the opening leg of the pick six

Who are some potential single candidates on a packed Pegasus World Cup card? Well, if you have the gumption, the opening race of the sequence, the Fred Hooper in race 8, features a great candidate in the six horse, Knightsbridge, trained by Bill Mott. He has won four of six lifetime starts and made it look easy in wining the Mr. Prospector Stakes at Gulfstream on December 27. Race 12, the Pegasus Turf, has Program Trading as the 5 to 2 morning line favorite. The trainer-jockey combination of Chad Brown and Flavien Prat has been highly successful in recent times. The nightcap has the unbeaten Disco Time as the 8 to 5 morning line favorite if you feel like putting all your eggs in the final basket.

Besides finding a single or two, another piece of advice is be sure and include longshots in races where you select more than one horse. Longer shot winners reduces the number of winning tickets and increases the payout for those speculating correctly.

Whatever method is chosen, the potential pool and the high level of competition on Pegasus World Cup Day means one thing…make sure you play!

First post on January 24 at Gulfstream Park is at 11 am eastern. The pick six begins in race 8 with an expected post time of 2:41 pm eastern.

Michigan progresses Bitcoin Reserve bill to invest 10% state funds in Bitcoin

The post Michigan progresses Bitcoin Reserve bill to invest 10% state funds in Bitcoin appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Takeaways Michigan’s legislature is considering a bill to allow up to 10% of its public funds to be invested in Bitcoin. This move would make Michigan one of the most ambitious U.S. states regarding state-level Bitcoin adoption. Michigan advanced legislation today that would authorize the state to invest up to 10% of its public funds in Bitcoin, joining a growing wave of states exploring crypto asset reserves. The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill represents one of the most ambitious state-level Bitcoin adoption proposals to date. Over 20 U.S. states introduced or considered similar Bitcoin reserve legislation in 2024 and early 2025, reflecting increased institutional interest as Bitcoin prices reached new highs. Michigan’s pension fund already maintains small Bitcoin exposure through exchange-traded funds. The proposal aligns with broader federal cryptocurrency policy shifts under the Trump administration, which has expressed support for a national Bitcoin reserve. Such federal backing has encouraged state-level initiatives as governments seek portfolio diversification beyond traditional assets. Bitcoin proponents argue that state reserves could provide hedge protection against inflation and currency devaluation, similar to how sovereign wealth funds like Norway’s oil fund diversified into alternative investments. Critics cite Bitcoin’s price volatility as a risk for public funds. The legislation still requires additional legislative approval before Michigan could begin Bitcoin purchases for its state treasury operations.
