BitMEX co-founder and Maelstrom executive Arthur Hayes made striking predictions about the future of the cryptocurrency market in a recent broadcast. Hayes indicated a seven-figure peak for Bitcoin in this cycle, while also sharing strategic changes to his portfolio.
Hayes painted a very bullish picture, stating that Bitcoin could reach $1 million in this market cycle. In the short term, he predicted that Bitcoin may have bottomed out around $60,000 and could rise to $145,000 by the end of the year.
According to Hayes, the key factor driving prices up is the continued printing of money by governments and central banks. He argued that the liquidity injected into the market to stimulate the economy, especially before the 2028 US elections, would be a major driver for crypto assets.

The famous billionaire revealed three projects that he expects to outperform Bitcoin in this cycle:
Hayes stated that 90% of his current portfolio is in Bitcoin, with the remainder divided among Ethereum (ETH), Zcash, and Hyperliquid. While he still considers Ethereum to be the “best layer-1 (L1) network,” he said that with new capital, he would currently prefer to buy Hyperliquid or Bitcoin instead of an L1 network.
