At around 4:00 AM Singapore time on September 20, 2024, BingX detected unauthorised access to one of its hot wallets and suspended withdrawals and deposits.

CoinDesk reported that on-chain data showed more than 43 million dollars drained, with the attacker swapping stolen altcoins into ETH and BNB across decentralised exchanges.

BingX's chief product officer said publicly that the loss was manageable and that any user losses would be covered.

In a statement issued on September 30, 2024, BingX said withdrawals for major assets resumed by 08:30 on September 21 and deposits by September 22, and that user assets remained unimpaired.
